A place for Spirit, Mind, Body
Restoration and Regeneration.
From the very first session, breath meditation will tend to your relationship with your breath. Some say the experience of breath meditation is akin to coming home to a familiar and serene place that you didn’t even realize you missed or longed for.
Through a gently guided session that focuses on breath, you will begin to perceive where and how breath flows in the body. As your relationship with the breath develops, the breath becomes more refined illuminating the inner landscape allowing for a dismantling of patterns that restrict your breath; soothing, calming, and toning the nervous system. Over time utilizing the breath the bodymind/energy body will begin to re-align; activating its innate mechanisms for self-healing and spiritual insight. With a regular and sustained practice the Spirit blueprints its original and intended nature upon the bodymind; allowing for one's own soul supporting movements toward the authentic Self to effortlessly unfold; bringing a deeper and prolonged sense of mental, emotional, and physical balance, health, and vitality.
THE BREATHING ROOM IS A SANCTUARY WHERE YOU WILL BUILD A STRONG AND LASTING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BREATH
The Breathing Room is a sacred space for you to reconnect with the most basic and powerful part of yourself, your own breath.
While lying down comfortably, with breath as your guide an experienced practitioner will facilitate a journey to promote relaxation.
The Breathing Room is a place of safety where you can release all fear and judgment, a place to just be with yourself and your breath, giving it the attention it needs to relax and release.
You'll be guided to both observe the breath as a compassionate witness and work with the breath, altering and strengthening its patterns and flows with gentle (Yin/Feminine - passive, receptive) techniques.
The Breathing Room is a place of sacred surrender, a place of devotion, of handing yourself over to Silence, a place to discover the power of The Space Between, and a place to uncover what your body and breath is trying to tell you about you.
Utilizing mindfulness techniques and ancient yogic practices you'll be guided into the still point of the breath; the place of no time, no space, and most of all no stress.
In the breathing room, I teach only what I have learned through experience in my own relationship with breath, body, and soul. Over the past 25 years I've been blessed with a quiet spacious life, inwardly focused while also being a householder, affording me the time necessary to study, develop, and experience the unfolding of the breath and its effect on the bodymind. In devoting my life to a relationship with breath and body I have discovered that the unfolding is like a dance with the divine Source of all that is. The dance includes many movements; but they are all given by Grace.
This body of work is foundationally sound, anchored in both time-honored ancient wisdom practices and modern sciences. The teachings are deeply rooted in Christian mysticism and yogic health practices. The work is also seeded in the sciences of human anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and somatic science, as well as aspects of modern psychology and mindfulness techniques. Most importantly however, this work grows and blossoms from your own inner truth and the unfolding of your Nature which knows no bounds, these practices and sciences merely present a foundation and framework for us to conceptualize and surrender to the mysterious and divine unfolding of your unique being. I believe in and teach from a Divine Feminine perspective, never forcing, from this stance the dance of the breath is engaged, keeping the work very safe and respectful of boundaries.
As I, the facilitator, abide in the stillness with you, you'll begin to identify the stressors that inhibit the breath, begin to free the body from the effects of stress, and begin opening the breathing space in your body. . .
When we breathe properly, with every breath we are sending vital life force to every part of the body, it is our most vital nourishment.
WHERE BREATH GOES~ENERGY FLOWS
WHERE ENERGY FLOWS~BLOOD GOES
WHERE BLOOD GOES~TOXINS ARE REMOVED AND
NOURISHMENT IS DELIVERED
Breath Meditation calms and tones the vagus nerve soothing the sympathetic "Fight, Flight, Freeze, Fawn" nervous response, activating the parasympathetic nervous "Rest & Digest" system. Breath meditation also integrates the left and right sides of the brain promoting 'whole brain' functioning.
When the brain and nervous system come into balance, the mind is freed of rumination and negative thought patterns. The mind will then respond in kind with clarity of thought, increased creativity, and InSpired thinking.
A pattern of deeper, slower breathing nourishes the internal organs and dilates the blood vessels, relaxing tense muscles and reducing blood pressure. Meanwhile, the Rest & Digest system allows the body to sleep better, digest food more completely, heal injuries, and process memories more effectively.
Breath works intimately with the body's energy systems. Eastern medicine refer to this energy as Prana, Qi, or Chi. As we move and open the breathing space, the body's energy via its innate healing capacity becomes unblocked, strengthened, and more balanced.
Breath meditation is grounded in mindfulness and self-compassion practices. When combined with a balanced nervous system, improved sleep and freed energy, our coping skills improve and we are able to be less imprisoned by our thoughts and less entangled in our emotions.
The gentle work of integrating spirit, breath, and body provides a safe internal place for the heart to open and meet the emotions of any situation. As we transcend suppressed emotions we arrive deeply into the present moment where we find greater resilience.
This complimentary session is a meet and greet where you'll learn more about the breathing room and what to expect, have your questions answered, and lay out a plan.
These sessions are designed to create a foundation for deeper work; they introduce the structure and format of a session, introduce key principles and techniques, and offer tools of support for your practice in between sessions.
These sessions continue to restore tone and elasticity to the breathing muscles, continue to strengthen diaphragmatic breathing while soothing the nervous system and expanding the breathing space. They introduce more subtle aspects of the work and provide glimpses into stillness and meditation.
A relationship with the breath is one that requires ongoing nurturance, focus, attention, and time. Continued sessions support and reinforce the commitment, having a guide helps to strengthen and evolve the work. The relationship with the breath is meant to last and evolve over a lifetime. Breath meditation in its fullness is a dance with the Divine. Continued support ensures the evolution of a process in which we expand consciousness and deepen self-knowledge in order to access states of direct perception of and union with the Divine. Each journey is a unique gift.
